Glossary

A

Acetylcysteine – powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, helps with immune
modulation, works well with glutathione (increases synthesis of glutathione in
the liver). Read about it here !

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) – powerful antioxidant that supports essential cellular functions and protects against damage It’s often used for fighting premature skin aging caused by UV damage. It is quickly absorbed and distributed throughout the major organs. ALA strengthens the body’s defense system by enhancing and recycling other antioxidants like vitamins C and E, coenzyme Q10 and glutathione. It plays a vital role int he conversion of glucose to energy within the mitochondria. By mimicking insulin, ALA improves glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity, facilitating the transportation of glucose in the cells and reducing fat storage. It also enhances the conversion of carbohydrates into energy, limiting their conversion into fats. It is used often to treat neuropathy and help those suffering from fibromyalgia.

Arginineamino acid, helps body build protein, important for wound healing, helps kidneys remove waste, maintain immune and hormone function, dilates and relaxes the arteries, build and repair new cells, repair damaged tissues

Ascorbic Acidvitamin & antioxidant contributes in the formation of blood vessels, cartilage, muscle and collagen in bones, vital for healing, protects from free radicals, helps absorb iron

B

Biotin – Vitamin B7 is good for healthy hair, nails, and skin. It’s also important in metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and amino acids

B-Complex – Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacinamide (B3), Panthenol (B5)

(Super) B-Complex – Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Niacinamide (B3), Panthenol (B5), Methylcobalamin (B12)

C

Calciummineral important for healthy bones and teeth, heart, muscles, and nerve
function

Cyanocobalaminvitamin B12 (synthetic version), less bioavailable than methylcobalamin (for the form that we use)

D

Dexpanthenolderivative of pantothenic acid Vitamin B5 – anti-inflammatory, skin protectant, improve skin elasticity and rehydrate it; helps the body utilize carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids; aids on production of energy

G

Glutamineamino acid improves athletic performance & recovery, promotes muscle growth, supports metabolic, heart, brain, GI (intestinal function) and immune health

Glutathioneantioxidant made from amino acids important for tissue building and repair, making chemicals and proteins needed in the body, and in immune system function; prevents damage to important cellular components caused by reactive oxygen species such as free radicals, peroxides, lipid peroxides, and heavy metals

H

Hydroxocobalamin – version of Vitamin B12 makes red blood cells that work properly to carry oxygen around your body, which helps to reduce fatigue and lethargy, supports the normal function of your nerve cells, it can improving your memory and helping prevent heart disease

I

Isoleucineessential amino acid aids in hemoglobin production (carry oxygen around body), it may help control blood sugar and increase energy and endurance; critical in physiological functions of the whole body, such as growth, immunity, protein metabolism, fatty acid metabolism and glucose transportation and can improve the immune system

L

Leucine – essential amino acid used by skeletal muscles to give energy during exercise, helps control blood sugar, aids in muscle building, weight loss, and skin health

Lysine – essential amino acid helps the body absorb calcium, important in formation of collagen (important for bones and connective tissues including skin, tendons, and cartilage, promote wound healing) and may help reduce anxiety

M

Manganesemineral helps the body form connective tissue, bones, blood clotting factors, and sex hormones; important for fat and carbohydrate metabolism, calcium absorption, and blood sugar regulation, normal brain and nerve function

Magnesiummineral involved in more than 600 reactions in the body, important for nerve system regulation, energy creation, muscle movement, protein formation, gene maintenance; may boost exercise performance, increase muscle mass, protect against muscle damage, help with heart health and blood sugar regulation, combat depression, and prevent migraines

Methylcobalamin – most bioavailable form of Vitamin B12, part of red blood cell formation, boosts energy and metabolism, promotes cognitive (brain & nerves) health, can aid in preventing neurocognitive diseases

MIC –      L-Methionineamino acid improves the tone and elasticity of the skin, promotes healthy hair and strengthens the                    nails may help the body detoxify

Inositolcarbocyclic sugar found in the brain and important in cell signal transduction, helps with cell structure; may help balance certain chemicals in the body related to PCOS and some mental conditions, may aid in blood sugar control

Cholineessential nutrient important for metabolism utilized by brain and nervous system in regulating memory, mood, muscle control and other functions

N

Niacinamide – Vitamin B3 required for function of fats and sugars in the body and to maintain healthy cells; helps build keratin , a type of protein that keeps your skin firm and healthy; builds proteins in the skin and offers protection against environmental damage; helps with overall appearance, health, and protection of skin

NAD+  Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, a co-enzyme found in every cell of the body, essential in ATP (energy) production, declines with age, greatly increases energy, helps with neuro-degenerative decline, brain fog, athletic endurance, anti-aging, improved cognition, memory, mood, and alcohol detoxification

O

Ornithineamino acid helps to improve athletic performance such as speed, strength, and power

P

Panthenol – made from pantothenic acid Vitamin B5 anti-inflammatory, skin protectant, improves skin hydration, appearance, redness, and lines

PyridoxineVitamin B6 promotes brain and cognitive health, important for protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism, aids in hemoglobin production, may improve mood and symptoms of depression, may help with PMS symptoms

R

RiboflavinVitamin B2 converts carbohydrates into fuel (glucose) which is used to produce energy; helps the body metabolize fats and proteins; important for skin, digestive tract, blood cell, and brain function

S

Seleniummineral powerful antioxidant helps prevent mental decline, important for thyroid health, boosts immune system, helps prevent cellular damage and infections, may help with asthma symptoms, helps protect against heart disease

T
