It takes approximately 30 minutes per appointment or treatment area.
It’s administered by very tiny injections that may feel like a slight pinch, but many clients report little to no discomfort.
Very little active recovery is needed, you will receive detailed post care instructions, but can return to most normal activities in an hour or less.
It varies by treatment type and by person how many units it takes. However, on average it’s typically 25-35 units for each facial cosmetic treatment and around 80 units for TMJ treatments.
The results are the desired cosmetic or medicinal relaxation of the muscles producing reduction in facial & neck lines or relaxation of the jaw to prevent clenching. Results last about 3-4 months.
Results are not immediate, you can begin to see results in about 2-3 days and it can take up to 2 weeks to achieve the full effect.
Treatment is for anyone age 18 and over wanting to achieve any of the possible desired effects of Xeomin. There are some people that Xeomin may not be right for, a screening questionnaire is completed by all interested clients to ensure it can be safely administered for you.
Botulinum toxin A works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscles, this results in inhibiting the muscle from contracting (tense up). For cosmetic purposes, this relaxes the muscles that cause undesirable lines and wrinkling. The overall affect is a smoothing of the skin. For medicinal use with TMJ and clenching, it works by inhibiting the muscles that cause clenching, thus your jaw remains in a relaxed state preventing pain and tension that result from clenching.
